I'm looking for any info on 3xGreat Paternal Grandfatther, Daniel Owens or his father Henry Owens. I have very little data. Both were mariners. Henry is said to have been from Caernarvon. Daniel was was born in or around 1815. It's not clear from family history whether Daniel was born in Caernarvon or Carmarthen. The Owens family married into the Twinney family of Carmarthenshire (who may have lived in or near Laugharne and had a boatbuilding business in Llanstephan). John Twinney fought in the Battle of Trafalgar on the Sirius and relocated to Portsea, Hampshire with his wife Jennet, also born in Wales. Daniel married their daughter Mary Ann in Portsea in 1838 (his age was given as 23). I know this is very scanty info but will be grateful for any possible leads. I've looked for Daniel in the Caernarvonshire census and haven't managed to find him. There were only two Daniel born 1815, one was a quarryman and the other a farm labourer. I have made a note of them but there was no Henry showing as being related.

Just had another go at solving this as I had some time to spare. Found a tree on Ancestry.com that has to be the same as you are researching. Daniel Owens married to Mary Ann Twinney, married 19th August, 1838, at St. Mary's Church, Portsea Island, Portsmouth (marriage certificate held according to whoever has the family tree).

Have I come across your tree or is this a relative of yours that you don't know about?
