Hi, I am trying to find the ancestor line for my GGrandfather Evan Morgan born c1856 in Aberdare, Mid Glamorgan. I think he was married in 1879 to a Margaret Jane Jones but I have no evidence of this and I cannot find them in the Welsh census lists. Can anyone out there help please?

I've been a bit busy today so will do this look-up tomorrow (Monday) when I get home from work. Should be able to find something in the 1871 census

I found Robert and family in the 1881 census, shows Robert as being a gardener. Ancestry .com isn't bringing this family up in the 1871 but I do have the census on CD so will do it the hard way and search the Holyhead section page by page, but it will take a while. Get back to you on this.

I can see why you are having problems with this family. I can't find them in the 1871 census in Holyhead, even more odd is Cambria Place isn't showing either. I wonder if a part of the census is missing. I will try the 1861 census as Robert was aged 1 then.

Hi

I am looking for information onmy gggg grandmother  Martha DAVIS born 1770 Carmarthen Wales died 22/2/1852 New South Wales Australia.

She was tried in Monmouth and sentenced to seven years arrived in Australia on the ship "Experiment"  in 1804 June I believe.

She married Joseph GRIFFITHS in 1804 in New South Wales  they had 2 children Ann born 1805 and John born 1806.

I would like to be able to trace her line back further so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Heather

Hi Heather, I'll try using Ancestry.com for any info but what is really needed is someone to go and have a look at the parish records for the information you want. I'm a bit too far away to do it myself as I'm in Gwynedd, North Wales. Carmarthen is in South Wales

Not a lot of Martha Davies born 1770, 1771 but some were still in Carmarthenshire in the 1841 census. The others are difficult to find after the birth date. The records this far back are very limited. Still looking.

Hi Mervyn,

Just wondering if you were able to contact the person who owns the tree.

Apologies, I pointed you in the direction and thought you were going to do the contacting.

I'll try using Ancestry to see if they are willing to help out.
