Born Liverpool 1937. Evacuated to Builth Wells during WW2. Served in Merchant Navy from 1953. Married in Swansea 1963, two sons christened at St Judes Swansea. Darren the eldest joined The Welsh Regiment, but left the army after six years and lives in Swansea. Colin the youngest is the captain of a passenger ship. The photo above shows me with Colin's son, my first grandchild 2008. I Joined South African Navy  1975 - 1990. Became the marine artist for the navy when my seagoing days ended. Presently writing books and articles for magazine 'Shipping Today And Yesterday,' on the maritime as well as painting. I've Recently painted a l picture of the barque ZETA, a ship Catherine Zeta Jones is named after. I will put it up on site if anybody would like to see it. I intend to move back to Swansea within the next twelve months. - John Richardson
